Before You Order a BIMI Certificate
BIMI only shows your logo when everything below is in place. Check these first:
- DMARC is enforced. Your policy must be
p=quarantineorp=reject, withpct=100. Test it with the DMARC Checker. A policy ofp=nonewill not work. - Your logo is in SVG Tiny P/S format. Convert it free with the BIMI SVG Converter.
- You have the right proof. A VMC needs a registered trademark of your logo. A CMC needs proof the logo has been in use for 12 months.

What a BIMI DNS Record Looks Like
Publish a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com:
default._bimi.yourdomain.com. IN TXT "v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomain.com/logo.svg; a=https://yourdomain.com/certificate.pem"v=BIMI1is the version.l=is the HTTPS address of your SVG logo.a=is the HTTPS address of your certificate file (.pem). It is what lets Gmail show the checkmark with a VMC.

VMC or CMC: Which One?
Choose a VMC if you have a registered trademark and want the Gmail blue checkmark. Choose a CMC if you have no trademark but your logo has been in use for 12 months; it shows your logo without the checkmark. You can upgrade from a CMC to a VMC later.
Email support: Gmail shows the logo for both and the checkmark for VMCs only. Support in Apple Mail, Yahoo and Fastmail varies by certificate type and client — check current provider guidance if you need those specifically.
