Replacing an Entrust VMC {#replacing-entrust}

Entrust stopped issuing VMCs in 2025, and Sectigo took over Entrust's public certificate business. [CONFIRM the exact wording and dates before publishing; keep it factual and do not speculate about either company.] If your current VMC came from Entrust, the practical questions are these:

Will my logo stop showing? A certificate keeps working until it expires. When it does, the logo stops showing unless a new certificate is in place. Plan the replacement before the expiry date, not after.

Do I need to redo my DMARC or logo work? No, as long as DMARC is still enforced and your logo file is still valid SVG Tiny P/S. Your BIMI record stays the same shape. You publish the new certificate at the address in the a= tag.

What You Need Before You Order

• DMARC enforced: p=quarantine or p=reject, with pct=100. A policy of p=none will not work. Test it with the DMARC Checker.
• SPF and DKIM aligned for all legitimate mail, so enforcement does not block real messages.

Publishing Your BIMI Record

Publish one TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com:

Common Reasons Orders Get Delayed

Most delays come from the same few things, and all of them can be fixed before you order:

• The logo file is not valid SVG Tiny P/S. A normal SVG exported from a design tool usually fails. Run it through the BIMI SVG Converter first.
• DMARC is enforced on paper but not in practice. A policy of p=quarantine with pct=50, or a subdomain policy of sp=none, does not meet the requirement. Check both.
• The company name does not match the proof. If your trademark is registered to one legal entity and you order under another, expect questions. Use the exact registered owner's name.
• Nobody answers the validation contact. Validation can include a call or email to your organization. Tell the right person to expect it.
